FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

February... where on earth do I even begin to start? At the end of January, I spontaneously booked a trip to New York for the second week of February. So at the start of the month, February was literally just the month that I was going to NYC. Fast forward a week, and February became the month that -

a) I was contacted by a couple of amazing brands to collaborate with
b) I discovered what was to become my favourite city in the entire world
c) I was invited to my first London Fashion week as a blogger (as appose to a TV producer/friend of a friend in higher fashion places than me)

This, for me, was pretty damn incredible/exciting/overwhelming/all those other adjectives. Fast forward another week, and February became the month that I -

a) Reached 1000 followers on Bloglovin [insert 'Blow kiss', 'shocked face', 'screaming face', 'crying face' and all the love hearts in the world, emoji's here]
b) I went to LFW, and was subsequently contacted by a designer after one of my reviews of their collection to arrange a meeting for me to go to their studio, check out the collection further and sit down and "have a chat" with the designers. (Serious OMf**kingG times) I am still in utter shock about this and cannot believe how lucky I am.
c) and last but not least, February became the month that I got engaged. In New York city, in a snow covered Central Park, I became a fiancé (you can read more about that here).

So February 2015 has easily been the most incredible month of my life, and I apologise for the complete and utter word vomit/verbal diarrhoea at the beginning of this post, but I felt that it was important for me to mark that here, on my little corner of the internet.

It's tough for me to then pick my favourite 'products' for this month as February has flown by in a happy blur, but I have done... all in the name of being a good blogger. (I know I know #WorkingClassHero)
Benefit Rollerlash Mascara - Let's be honest, there have been more Rollerlash reviews and Social media hype around this product than possibly any other beauty item out at the moment. (Benefit seriously know how to market their makeup - You go Glen Coco Benefit!) So I won't bore you to death with a full review. In short, Rollerlash makes my lashes longer, more defined and much more curled/lifted than any other I have ever tried. Now please just make a waterproof version Benefit, I would really love to wear this on my wedding day, without worrying that it might run down my face.
BareMinerals Eyeshadow duo* - I received this shadow duo from BareMinerals a couple of weeks back now and I have to say... I've pretty much used it every day since. It has the most gorgeous olive green colour as well as an icy white with a hint of lime (I have never seen anything similar to this, which really is saying something!) that compliment each other so well and work really well with my skin tone/hair colour. To be totally honest, when I noticed they were green, my first impression was "Oh hell no, I do not need to be looking any more like Princess Fiona/Shrek than I already do"... but they really are stunning, and perfect for a wedding day in my opinion.
BD Trade Secrets matte lip pencil in Sensual* - This might be my favourite favourite of the materialist items in this post. I received this in a huge box BD Trade secrets products - Thank you BD, you're the one! (Just don't tell my fiancé that, right?) - and I was pleasantly surprised by so many of their products (a post on those coming soon - i.e when I get my shit life together and manage to photograph/write one up) but this is definitely my favourite of the lot. A stunning plummy pink - think Kylie Jenner lip colour minus the ridiculous liner/surgery* [#SorryNotSorry, we all know it's true] It really is the most nourishing matte lipstick that I've ever tried. It doesn't last quite so long as my other matte lip products because of how moisturising it is, but it layers amazingly well so that's not a problem for me at all. I highly, highly recommend picking this up... I've already purchased a backup. #BloggerProblems
Origins Spot Remover - I would like to think of myself as a very "real" girl, so let me just put this out there - I'm a girl, meaning at certain times of the month I'm hormonal (subtle Elle, subtle) and when I'm hormonal, I get the occasional spot. This little Origins beauty has worked incredibly well this month at drying up the spot (sexy), reducing the swelling/redness (attractive) and drawing out any puss to make it go as quick as possible (Jesus christ, my sex appeal is just on fire today [insert wink/"I'm totally being sarcastic in case you couldn't tell" emoji here]) Basically, it just does the job, and I've been very grateful for that this month! You also only need the tiniest amount, so that £15 *gulp* goes a really long way.
BD Trade Secrets Everyday foundation* - The phrase "everyday" gives you the impression that this foundation is quite ordinary, quite standard... which is shame because in actual fact, it's pretty damn incredible. It is the most beautiful, dewy (but not overly so), fresh, velvety foundation that just makes your skin look plump, glowing and healthy. It isn't the most long-wearing - as you would expect from a dewy, non-matte foundation - but works perfectly fine with a good setting powder. I have not strayed from this foundation since I received it and can't imagine doing so any time soon.
Dove Pure care dry oil - *Confession time* This hair oil really should've been in my last couple of monthly favourites but I totally forget to include it because I'm the world's shittest blogger, because I am yet to get my shit together. I am no stranger to hair oils - tresemme, Macadamia, Moroccan Oil, John Frieda... you name it, I've tried it! - and this is easily the best I've ever used. It literally just makes my hair look and feel healthier than it ever has done. Oh, and did I mention the smell? Obviously not, if you read back over your writing you tit... I am so in love with the smell, I shit kid you not when I say I would happily wear this scent in perfume form for the rest of my life. Love!

On to those miscellaneous others. Which basically means - all the random shit things I've been loving, that I don't have a clue where to put them, but wanted to keep them in anyway.

Fashion Week - If you follow me on Twitter/Instagram (or have read this blog for a couple of weeks +) then you'll know that I attended 3 days of Fashion week this season, and despite having reservations (here you can read why) I actually really enjoyed it. Here are my 3 looks, and links to any items that are still available.
Day 1: Red Stradivarius Jacket, Pink Missguided Trousers
Day 2: Grey Missguided Trousers, Boohoo Blazer
Day 3: Red heels (Primark 2 years ago, but an identical match here) Miss Selfridge coat (unavailable now but a gorgeous alternative here - I think I may even like it more)
Instagram - I was extremely late to the Instagram bandwagon and I finally - after 10 bajillion years - get the hype. My favourite Insta moment? (because we're totally making that a "thing" right?) was Instagram'ing this Essie Fifth Avenue picture... whilst standing on Fifth Avenue in New York.

It also became my most liked picture, as well as being "re-grammed" (Crikey, I'm getting so down with the kids with all these phrases) and liked by Essie. Thanks Essie you little flirt, you!
Love Tanya - As with 99% of the blogging population, I was extremely excited to pick up Tanya's book. Having watched her video's for over 5 years (Yep, I'm one of the oldie's when it comes to this Youtube thing) I was excited to hear about her life - in a completely non-stalker way - and see/hear how the blogging/Youtube world took off out of nowhere by one of it's biggest stars... and I was not disappointed.

First things first, the imagery/photography through the entire book, is absolutely stunning! Every single picture looks like it could've come straight from a fashion editorial, which is why "Love Tanya" has stayed on my coffee table despite finishing reading it at the beginning of February.

Secondly, I absolutely loved how candid Tanya was when it came to her personal life. For me, in terms of "tips and tricks" I can't say I learned a lot from the book as I've loved makeup and fashion for years so had picked up most of the tips mentioned along the way anyway. But the real gem of the book was simply feeling like you got to know Tanya a little better. Not Tanya Burr the YouTuber and Blogger... Tanya, the girl next door who started recording makeup tutorials on a webcam. In case you couldn't already tell, I really, really enjoyed reading this book.
Pinterest - Similarly (to the Instagram favourite) is Pinterest. Now if you read my last post, you can probably guess why I've been obsessed with Pinterest. But regardless of the slightly cliche but essential wedding board... there is such a ridiculous amount of inspiration there for fashion, home decor, beauty... you name it, there's a million pins for it. If I'm ever feeling down, I'll always head to Pinterest for some motivational quotes to cheer myself up and get me back on track. (Yes, I am that extremely sad person #SorryNotSorry)
NYC - My favourite city in the world. The city in which I felt the most inspired in (probably in my entire life, without sounding outrageously dramatic) and also the city in which I got engaged. Enough said, right?*

*Jesus christ, turning down an opportunity to elaborate and in turn, ramble into the new year... February has been a big month of change ;)

So that brings my (ridiculously long... apologies) February Favourites to an end. It was an extra long favourites post today but hopefully you won't mind, bearing in mind that a lot went down in February. I'd just like to take a moment to say thank you so much to anyone that follows this blog, comments regularly etc. whether you're a new follower or have followed for years... I never, ever imagined getting 1000 followers and I am truly grateful to all of you. Also, an even bigger thank you to everyone who commented - and congratulated - in my last post. Reading through the comments seriously made both of our weeks! :)

So, what were your February favourites? Anything exciting happen to you in February? I would love to hear your thoughts.

As always, thank you so much reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

xx
