WHAT'S IN MY BAG?

This is my first ever "What's in my bag?" post, and considering they're one of my favourite posts to read/video's to watch... I really don't know why I haven't done it sooner. Maybe lack of time, maybe lack of "bag inspiration" - totally not a thing, totally hoping you'll allow it to be a thing - but whatever the reason may be, I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I might be embarrassed/mortified/humiliated by all of the the Nando's/McDonald's/Boots/[insert your own choice of (really skanky classy) junk food restaurant and drugstore here] receipts found lying shamelessly at the bottom of the bag.

Nothing at all...

But alas, I have decided to do this post today and I really hope you enjoy it. Just a quick note on the fact that I'm currently using one of my bigger bags which naturally means I am carrying all the accessories, lipsticks, stationary and kitchen sinks in the world. All!

So here's what's in my bag. Minus a Crunchie, half a bag of mini eggs and previously said receipts. Because as much as I am all about keeping it real - you have my full permission to shoot me in the face for using that phrase - I am also about Pinterest worthy, beautiful, whimsical photo's. #SorryNotSorry
Oliver Bonas Card holder - This is a recent purchase of mine and when I'm not spending every second ogling it like "Oh my god, it's sooo pretty", I'm actually really enjoying using this handy little babe. When I downsize/swap bags over - which annoyingly I do far too often, gotta match the outfit and all that, right? - it's so much easier as it fits into every clutch no matter how big or small. It's real leather - just incase you didn't manage to catch the disproportionately large tag telling you so ;) - and really is just so pretty in "real life". A lot of love for Oliver Bonas.
Tesco Rose gold journal - Sticking with the rose gold/metallic theme.. this journal. It's received a lot of love across social media and cost a mere £2 from Tesco. You go Glen Coco Tesco! It's literally just a simple journal - complete with doodles, blog ideas, to-do lists (all the to-do lists) and a diary of upcoming meetings, events, shoots etc. - that looks pretty. It goes no deeper than that.
All the lipsticks - Because having 10486739335 almost identical pink lipsticks in your bag is absolutely obligatory, right? Right... I thought so too. ;)
Collection Lasting perfection concealer - I don't carry much makeup with me, but I do carry concealer because there's nothing worse than a pesky spot popping up (literally) mid way through the day and you can't conceal it (I am all about #FirstWorldProblems over on The Elle next door) Collection's lasting perfection is my favourite "does it all" concealer. Spots, bags... be gone!
Miranda Kerr Treasure Yourself - I've had this book for years now but every so often, I'll carry it with me to randomly pick out some affirmations and quotes. Yep, I am that person who loves daily affirmations and quotes (#SorryNotSorry) and that is purely why I carry this book with me and not at all because I have the biggest girl crush on Miranda Kerr and love a daily perve. [insert guilty/embarrassed face emoji here]
Chanel Prescription Glasses - These little dreams come everywhere with me as I am practically blind long-distance without them. Yes, they are Chanel, and no, I stupidly didn't look at the price before approaching the till. My Mum still says to this day that my face when the cashier read out how much they were, was one of the funniest things she's ever seen. [insert extremely shocked/"Holy f**k, these better make me look like Cheryl Cole because they are horrendously expensive" face here]
Rayban Aviators - I have a fair few Rayban's, purely because I wear sunglasses at least 4/5 times a week - yes, I am that twat who wear sunglasses even in the rain just because they have no makeup on #SueMe - but these are my favourite. They go with every look, they feel a bit... LA. Basically, they make me release my inner Lauren Conrad. "I want to forgive you, and I want to forget you"
Those miscellaneous others - You know the ones; the Chewing gum (I'm a Starbucks addict, ain't nobody got time for coffee breath), Deodorant (self explanatory), Lush's Charity hand and body lotion pot (amazing hand cream, love this stuff!) and Headphones (perfect for those "Oh I can't be arsed to talk so I'll just put my headphones in and pretend I can't hear them" times).

Now we're done with the contents of my bag, I thought I'd chat a little bit about the bag itself.
If you've been around these parts for a while, you'll know that I bought myself the Mulberry Tillie Tote around 3 years ago now. I loved it, I still do in fact, and after chopping and changing with many other bags for certain periods of time, I always come back to this. It's a classic tote/shopper type bag with gold hardware and the most stunning soft matte leather, which brings me to my next point however.

Whilst the soft matte leather looks and feels incredibly luxurious, it is pretty hard to look after/upkeep, because this bag stains like an absolute bitch! I mean, to be fair, the first thing I dropped on it was red wine (...closely followed by coffee, tea, butter - don't ask - and the final nail in the coffin, a biro leaking through the side - but it's something to bear in mind anyway. If I was to go back in time, would I purchase the Tillie tote again? Yes, absolutely. But would I have done my research and insured the bag from accidental damage from the get go? Yes, yes I bloody would have.

After perusing the market, I discovered Insure my handbag - who very kindly sponsored this post, thanks Insure my handbag, you little babe, you... - and the only negative I've found so far is that I didn't discover it when I first sold my nan to by my bag, severely pissed off my bank account, invested in my Mulberry. And here's why;

Pretty incredible right? Especially when you consider the combined cost of all of the bag's contents too. I highly recommend you checking out their website - linked here because I'm a helpful blogger and all that...- for more details.

So that's it for today's post. I've never done a "What's in my bag?" post before so I really hope you enjoyed it. If you have any WIMB posts yourselves - we're cool, so we'll abbreviate that yeah? - then please leave them below as I am all for indulging my nosiness and checking them all out.

What do you always have in your bag? What is your favourite, go-to handbag? And have you ever thought about insuring your bag - and don't forget the contents too - before? I would love to hear your thoughts!

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

xx
