You know those kind of people (admittedly about 90% of the population) that absolutely love Christmas and are on a countdown from the beginning of bloody November? Well, I'm just not one of them! Don't get me wrong I am absolutely by no means a Scrooge, I love the whole buying and receiving presents - let's be honest, it's all about the receiving ;) - getting together with family/friends, and Christmas dinner is literally worth waiting 365 days for in itself, but I'm just not one to get completely over-excited about it.
...And then Winter Wonderland entered my life!
If you love Christmas, love funfairs and rides, love amazing food and mulled wine (let's face it, who doesn't?) and most importantly, love an amazing, family, feel good atmosphere get yourself down to this place!
I will say one thing before I go into detail about what Winter Wonderland consists of, and that's that it is expensive. Really expensive. But I genuinely think it's worth it, and coming from somebody who is quite frankly an absolute tight arse, that's saying something!
Winter Wonderland's main attractions are the rides, food/drinks stalls, bars and restaurants. It is absolutely jam packed with Food stalls. Hog roasts, Bavarian chips, hot dogs, crepes, roasted chestnuts (my favourite!) Corn on the cob's and jacket potatoes to name but a few, literally a few! I only wish I had more pictures of the stalls but in all honesty, I was far too pre-occupied with the rides to wack the camera out. I completely regressed to my 5 year old self, and I bloody loved it!
Here are some pictures of the stalls, bars, attractions etc...and there may be (that means there will) some slightly embarrassing pictures of some friends and I sodding about on rides and abusing christmassy statues *disclaimer - you may never look at a snowman in the same way again*
Cheesy pose central! Post-mulled wine shots. No further explanation needed!
One mulled wine too many, which leads nicely onto the next picture!
Yes, that would be me groping the snowman, there are no words!
....and the reason for the (fake) frightened poses above, we were about to go on the ride below. If you like fast, high rides, this bad boy is for you!
An extremely blurry picture, I'm blaming this on how fast the ride was because number 1, my shocking photography skills won't be to blame and number 2, it makes me feel more brave. Yes that makes me sad, sue me! ;)
Hopefully you can get some sort of idea how lovely Winter Wonderland is. As per usual, my pictures do absolutely no justice whatsoever (David Bailey's not exactly going to be shaking in his boots is he?) but Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland finishes on the 6th January, so if you are a big Christmas fan, I urge you to get yourself down there!
Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks so much for reading :)
